Born in 1977, Etienne Bardelli, a.k.a. Akroe, lives and works in Paris. He grew up in Jura, a hybrid region in eastern France, where nature makes room for the industry . His first graffitis at age 12. This is the beginning of a violent experience which instantaneously turns into an obsession.
In the year 2000, and after around 2000 paintings done, he settles in Paris after a graphic arts studies. His first commissions consist of the New Parisian Cool : music and clothes identities.Akroe's still painting, however he takes a step deeper , he starts organising ideas infused by reflections about his experiences as a graffiti artist and designer . These first works show the traces of gestures made and emotions felt while painting in the industrial ruins, within them lies the complex relation between the animate and the lifeless, industry and its workings, its production, its gestures and dangers.

Big Sister

Big sister is the broth of our accumulated presumptions, the exaltation of a concrete mass pathology, a colorful underlying dystopia. It is there, controling and guiding us happily in our drift. This afternoon at the park with our children.
